DEEP DISH DUNGEONTHE INDEPENDENT GUIDE

Iron Key to Prison Key: the opening route

Separate the cast key, the chest key and the prison entrance.

The short answer

The Prison Key is found in a chest reached through an Iron Key door. Cast the Iron Key at the large dungeon forge; it is not the Prison Key itself.

Your route at a glance

  1. Hammer → forge access
  2. Cast Iron Key + Large Key
  3. Hall by Jaguar Door
  4. Iron Key room → chest
  5. Small Key approach → Prison Door

Progression schematic, not a geographic map. Detailed steps and version limits below.

Prepare both forge keys

  1. Use the Hammer to pass the rusty barrier leading to the large forge.
  2. Cast the Iron Key using its mold: 5 Coal + 8 Scrap Metal.
  3. Cast the Large Key with its separate mold to reach the hall containing the Jaguar Door and Iron Key door. Budget another casting; the Iron Key alone is not the whole route.
  4. Open the Iron Key side room near the Jaguar Door and check its chest for the Prison Key. Watch for skeletons.

Use the correct key at each lock

Return toward the main camp’s Small Key route to the prison. Clear webs with a torch, then use the Prison Key at the Prison Door. The Small Key grants access to the approach; it is not a substitute for the Prison Key.

Wrong recipe or empty route?

Some Demo walkthroughs quote 10 Scrap Metal. The 8-scrap figure here follows full-release coverage. If your forge prompt differs after an update, follow the in-game prompt. Do not assume every ordinary loot container is fixed.
